La Tortuga Viva is a volunteer-run, community-based sea turtle sanctuary working to protect and conserve three species of sea turtle on Playa Icacos outside the village of Juluchuca, GRO, Mexico

Since 2010, we have hatched and released more than 400,000 baby sea turtles whose mothers nested on the 18 kilometers of beach that volunteers patrol every night.
